Dissenters’ grand fundraiser at the halls

Dissenters N16 are staging a weekend of events at St Matthias Halls on 25-27 January to raise £3,000 to finish buying a gorgeous grand concert piano, which will be on permanent loan to St Matthias Church.

The weekend will mix up delicious food, drinks, live music, art and photography and the famous Dissenters’ quiz night!

Photographic exhibition by explorer and journalist Alix Kroeger and Friends 11am-4.30pm Dissenters Gallery – fantastic photographs and other artwork by members of community choir Chorus of Dissent (all for sale. All proceeds to the piano fund).

All-Day cafe hosted by You Had Me At Halloumi 11am-4.30pm Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 January, St Matthias Hall

Saturday Pianothon Performance – an acoustic set curated by Stokey acoustic duo the Ga Ga Ladies, co-hosted by MC Fran Isherwood 2-5pm Sat 26 January. Suggested £5 cash donation.

Sunday Pianothon performance 2 – all budding pianists welcome to come and play the fabulous Deeble grand piano, serenading the cafe clientele 1-4pm Sunday 27 January. Curated by Jennie Barham. Bring a cash donation to have a go. 

Dissenters’ Famous Fundraiser Quiz night Saturday 26 January, St Matthias Hall

Doors and cash bar 6.45pm, quiz starts at 7.30pm. Hosted by the inimitable Farquhar McKay, bring your razor-sharp intellects and a picnic for this hugely enjoyable evening, which is always sold out. Book a table for eight 8 or buy individual tickets and join a team when you arrive. Tickets £11 in advance only here
